Select Depth of Your Stretched Canvas
Before you select the frame you want for your canvas, you need to determine whether your canvas is on a standard stretch or a deep stretch. These are broad categories but normally a standard stretch is around 20mm / 3/4" and a deep stretch is around 40mm / 1 1/2". However, as canvases come in all different sizes what you need to do is to determine whether your canvas falls into the standard category or the deep category. To do this, measure the depth of your canvas close to the edge as shown. If your canvas depth is 20mm or less, select standard canvas stretch below. if it is greater than 20mm, select deep canvas stretch below.
